As an experienced tax specialist and consultant, Tom spends the majority of his professional time working with small business owners and individuals - meeting their needs for financial - related advisory services and estate planning. Facing the challenges of the ever-changing and unpredictable tax code, Tom stays on top with continuing research and by writing for a wide audience that includes professional peer organizations as well as the general public. His most recognized works include "How to Slash the Cost, Time and Aggravation of a Tax Audit" and "Top Tax Saving Ideas for Today's Small Business". As a former educator (University of Maryland), Tom continues to focus on other academic pursuits in his effort to meet the demands of the changing times. His most recent credential gives Tom recognition as a CVA ("Certified Valuation Analyst"), which qualifies him to establish a fair market value for ongoing business enterprises. This has proven to be a valuable tool for ST&M in its work in estate and business planning.

Tom is a member in good standing with the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants; Maryland Society of Accounting & Tax Professionals; National Society of Accountants; National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and he is credentialed as an Enrolled Agent (for IRS representations)

As managing partner for the firm - Chris brings his skills as an accounting professional, which are especially recognized because of his long time experience as an innovative tax specialist and planner. This experience has led to an enhanced reputation for ST&M with Chris being called on by outside accountants, attorneys and other professionals for his opinion on issues involving the ever-changing tax code. His proficiency has created an increasing demand for the services of the firm by individuals and business owners in need of a more sophisticated tax planning regimen and, in many cases, representations before the IRS - for which he has a highly successful track record.
    
Undaunted by the challenges in the tax area, along with the ever-changing tax code, Chris has also managed to meet head-on the increasing demand for excellence in quality control and financial reporting required of all CPA firms. With this additional layer of specialization, his prowess has paid off with ST&M's high quality financial statements and reports that the firm renders to outside interested parties. It has also gained him recognition for his capabilities in meeting the compliance requirements of the AICPA's peer review reporting system.

Robert W. Morris, CPA, CGMA  Contact

Robert is a graduate of Towson University and successfully attained his CPA credential in the Fall of 2014. His youthful enthusiasm has complemented the existing team members of Stemmy, Tidler and Morris. Robert has shown that he has a keen eye for accounting concepts and tax issues. He has assisted Chris in many tax and financial statement projects.  In addtion, he maintains a watchful eye over the filing requirements of our clients, recent developments in computer technology and other detail issues concerning our accounting practice.
