As an esteemed tax specialist and consultant for nearly 30 years, Tom is renowned throughout the nation as an author and is well-respected in the tax accounting industry. An award-winning writer, Tom has also written How to Slash the Cost, Time, and Aggravation of a Tax Audit. He also writes a regular column which now appears in the Capital  - Gazette newspapers. In addition to his more than 20 years of practice with Stemmy, Tidler, & Morris, P.A., Tom has worked as a tax agent for the IRS. He taught federal taxation at the University of Maryland and currently lectures on financially related topics. A member of the National Society of Public Accountants, he was honored with the Golden Quill Award in 1992. His new designation as a Certified Valuation Analyst adds a new dimension to the firm with the growing demand for business valuations that are needed for estate and business planning. Tom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Society of Accountants.

As our managing partner, Chris is our resident tax expert. He is often called on by outside accountants, attorneys, and other professionals for his opinion on issues involving the increasingly complex tax code. Due to his tax skills ST&M has experienced an increasing demand for services with IRS representations and business planning. With the unprecedented demand for excellence in quality controls and financial reporting, Chris has met head on the added challenge of compliance requirement's of the AICPA's peer review reporting system. As a proficient accounting professional, Linda continues to expand her talents with the interpretation of the complex tax laws and the skillful preparation of a wide variety of business and individual returns. In recent months, Linda's latest focus on information technology has now enabled her to become the key IT person which includes handling matters such as complex software issues and becoming the company's new webmaster.
